February 29, 2016 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Dayton Dragons News Release
Dayton, Ohio - The Dayton chapter of the American Advertising Federation conducted its annual awards dinner on Saturday night, presenting honors to many of the top creative agencies in the Miami Valley. The Dayton Dragons were the recipients of three Hermes Awards in the categories of "Sales & Marketing" and "Film, Video, and Sound."
The Dragons received two Hermes Gold Awards in the Sales and Marketing category, earning honors for their Season Ticket Delivery package and for their Ticket Renewal Package. The Dragons were selected for Gold Awards from among all finalists in the category. The Dragons received the Hermes Bronze Award in the Film, Video, and Sound category for their 2015 Television Broadcast graphics package. Each item was produced by the Dragons in-house Creative Department.
In the Season Ticket Delivery package, Dragons season ticket holders received their tickets prior to the start of the season in a fun and unique form of packaging--a "Heaties" cereal box featuring the Dragons primary mascot, "Heater." The outside of the cereal box was decorated with Dragons branding messages, nutrition facts of being a season-ticket holder, and a kid's puzzle page. Inside the box included season ticket booklets, pocket schedules, magnetic schedule, season ticket holder gift vouchers, a sample of "Heaties" cereal and a secret toy surprise (Dragons keychain). As previously announced, this Dragons Season Ticket Delivery package was also chosen "Best Marketing Campaign" in Minor League Baseball in 2015 by Ballpark Digest.
The Dragons Season Ticket Renewal package, titled "It's More than a Game," is a full-color 16-page presentation of the Dragons brand through photos and graphics.
"We are proud and thankful to have collaborated on the Heaties delivery box with Shumsky, and on the ticket renewal package with Progressive Printing," said Robert Murphy, Dragons President & General Manager. "Both Shumsky and Progressive Printing are long-standing and prominent businesses who are also long-time corporate partners of the Dragons."
The Dragons television graphics package was a newly-designed group of elements utilized on each of the Dragons 25 television broadcasts in 2015. Score and information graphics were designed to add to the production quality of the telecasts for the viewers.
The Dragons will open their 17th season this spring at Fifth Third Field. Opening Day is set for Saturday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. against the Bowling Green Hot Rods.
