
Dragons earn MLL weekly honors

San Francisco, CA -For the second time this season, Ryan Powell is the MLL Offensive player of the Week. Joining him in garnering MLL weekly honors, is teammate Steve Holmes, who today was named Cascade Rookie of the Week.
Powell has been lighting up the scoreboard this season and leads the league in points with 39, averaging 7.8 points per game while only playing in five games, two less than most MLL players. In the Dragon's 16-15 overtime victory over the New Jersey Pride, Powell notched four goals and added four assists for a game high eight points, while adding the game-winning goal just 36 seconds into overtime. Powell won the Offensive Player of the Week award in Week Four after tying a league record with nine goals and adding three assists for 12 points against Denver.
Holmes became the first defensive player this year to be named Cascade Rookie of the Week. The Virginia product scored twice in the Dragons thrilling overtime victory over the Pride, while picking up two groundballs. Holmes now has three goals and one assist on the season, and became the fifth different Cascade Rookie of the Week in as many weeks.
The Dragons (4-2) host the Chicago Machine (0-7) at historic Kezar Stadium in San Francisco this Saturday, July 8th.
