TAMPA - After a dominating defensive performance that included a clean sheet, a team high 11 clearances and a perfect duels rating, Nashville SC defender Liam Doyle took home USL Team of the Week honors for Week 22. The honor is Doyle's first of the season and second of his USL career.

Against Ottawa Doyle was a force, winning all six of his duels, including five aerial duels, with no fouls conceded. Doyle completed 36 passes and his passing accuracy on Friday night was over 80%. The Isle of Man native's 11 clearances against the Fury were three more than any other player on Nashville's roster.

"It's exciting," said Doyle. "We haven't had that many [Team of the Week] honors as a defense this year, including Matt [Pickens]. I think the whole group has defended well all year. Eleven clean sheets in 22 games is something we can all be proud of. We just need to take that forward and finish strong."

Doyle has been a staple on the Nashville backline, playing in 21 games with 20 starts and the third-most USL minutes of any Nashville player. He has been a part of 10 of Nashville's 11 clean sheets this year, and is the only defender to find the back of the net this season for Nashville in USL play with a stunning free kick goal against Charleston Battery in May.

Doyle and the rest of Nashville SC will be back in action on Saturday night in Louisville at 6:30 p.m. The game will air on TV locally on MyTV30 and on the radio on ESPN 94.9 Game 2.
