P.E.I. Rocket News Release

P.E.I. Rocket forward Chris Doyle was named the Telus offensive player of the week for the week ending October 26th.

Doyle helped the Rocket win two out of four games on a long road trip to Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d'Or by scoring two goals, including a game-winner, and adding six assists. He also registered a +1 rating. The New York Rangers' fifth round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft was a force in the face-off circle, winning 67.9% of his draws. Doyle is currently eleventh in the QMJHL scoring standings with 22 points.

In other news, PEI Rocket rookie, Ben Duffy was named to The Hockey News' weekly roundup of players they can't wait to see in the NHL some day. Duffy made the list at #8, while 2007 Rocket draft pick Jordan Escott also made the list at #4. The 17 year old Escott is currently playing with the Amherst Ramblers in the MJAHL and was recently named to Canada East's team at the World Jr. A Challenge in November.

The PEI Rocket also announced that 18 year old Jordon Southorn has been suspended indefinitely by the organization for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Rocket next play on Thursday night in Moncton against the powerful Wildcats and return home for 2 games on the weekend when they host the Gatineau Olympiques on Saturday at 7:00 PM and the Lewiston Maineiacs on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
