Dorados Drop Sharks 77-50

Hidalgo, TX - Led by Nick Hill's 8 TD passes, the Rio Grande Valley Dorados defeated the Corpus Christi Sharks 77-50 at Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas. The Sharks fell to 1-3 while the Dorados improved to 3-1.

With the Sharks leading 19-15, WR Anthony Chambers made a sensational one handed TD grab at the 6:26 mark of the 2nd quarter to give the Dorados a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Chambers' score was the first of 3 consecutive 2nd quarter touchdowns for the Dorados who enjoyed a 36-29 half time lead.

The Dorados dominated the 3rd quarter 27-6 as Hill connected with 3 different Rio Grande Valley receivers for touchdowns. Each team scored 14 points in the 4th quarter to close out the scoring.

Though Rio Grande Valley took an early 12-6 lead, Sharks QB Gary Cooper found Jonathon Graham on the first play of the 2nd quarter for a 20 yard score. Nick Gatto's point after touchdown gave the Sharks a 13-12 lead, their first of the game. Tony Stevens' 26 yard FG on the ensuing possession put Rio Grande Valley back on top 15-13.

The Sharks answered and took their final lead of the game 19-15 when FB Roland Courtney rumbled 3 yards for a touchdown. Shortly after, Hill and Chambers put the Dorados ahead for good.

The Sharks travel to Florida for a May 1 tilt with the Firecats before returning to American Bank Center on May 9 to host the Tennessee Valley Vipers. Kick off is scheduled for 7:05pm. For ticket information call 361-882-9292 or visit www.ccsharks.com.
