Milwaukee Mustangs News Release
Lexington, Kentucky. - Milwaukee scored the first ten points of the game at the Rupp arena before eventually falling to the Kentucky Horsemen 56-38. Milwaukee came out strong as Tyler Donovan connected for his first touchdown pass since being knocked out of the game at Quad City with an injury to his oblique muscle. Donovan's strong start was helped with an Alex Walls field goal, but the Iron lead fell apart and Kentucky eventually outlasted Milwaukee, 56-38.
Lexington picked Tyler Donovan three times in the first half. The Horsemen also scored on its final play of the first half on a Hail Mary from Jared (the Hefty Lefty) Lorenzen on a bounce pass off the end zone net to give Lexington the lead at halftime.
Both teams traded touchdowns in the second half, with the Horsemen finding themselves in Milwaukee territory within the first five minutes of the second half. The story of this game was the Horsemen defense. It stopped Milwaukee from scoring late in the first half and kept Iron quarterbacks Tyler Donovan and Shane Adler on their heels for much of the game with a tenacious effort from its secondary.
The Iron are home against the Green Bay Blizzard at the Bradley Center on Friday, May 1 at 7:00. American Idol star and Milwaukee native Jamar Rogers is singing the National Anthem and signing autographs before the game.
