Dominik Tiffels Competes in IIHF 2014

Wilderness players Dominik Tiffels and Richard Buri were selected to compete with their home countries. Germany and Slovakia, respecticely in the International Ice Hockey Federation 2014 World Junior Championship in Malmo, Sweden. Preliminary rounds started December 26th as Germany took on Canada losing 7-2. Germany and Norway finished last in each Group setting up a series in the Relegation Round. The Relegation Round decides what team will receive an automatic bid to next years tournament. Tiffels statistics so far in the tournament; 6 games played, 2 penalty minutes, and +3. Although Germany has struggled on defense, Tiffels is still playing well with a +3 stat.

"There are so many scouts, so it's a good chance to show yourself. The games against Canada and USA are even more special to me. Our (Germany) goal is to stay in the A-pool. That means we'll be a top 10 team and qualify for the world Juniors 2015 in Toronto, Montreal next year." -Dominik Tiffels
