
Dominant Fourth Quarter Pulls Bighorns Past Vipers

RENO, NV - The Bighorns logged their biggest win of the season with a 137-105 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Wednesday night at the Reno Events Center, improving their record to 13-8, which keeps them on the top of the Pacific Division.
Vince Hunter paced the Bighorns with 23 points and six rebounds. Erick Green netted 22 points, grabbed four rebounds and added six assists. David Stockton had 21 points and six rebounds.
Green led the Bighorns in the first quarter with 16 points and three rebounds. Green went 5-5 from the field and 4-4 from the three-point range. Cliff Hammonds tallied six points in the quarter.
In the second quarter, Stockton tallied 10 points while Reggie Hearn notched eight points and two rebounds. Hunter counted six points and four rebounds in the second.
At the half, the Bighorns led the Vipers 64-53. During the first half, the Bighorns shot 60 percent from the three-point range compared to the Vipers shooting 47.6 percent from the three-point range.
Chad Toppert notched 12 of his 18 points in the third quarter while adding two rebounds in the quarter. Hunter had seven points while Hearn scored six points and added two rebounds.
Ricky Ledo netted nine points and grabbed five rebounds in the final quarter. Stockton had eight points and four assists. Kadeem Jack scored seven points in the fourth. The Bighorns outshot the Vipers 42-19 in the fourth.
The Bighorns outscored the Vipers 73-52 in the second half while going 80 percent from behind the arc compared to the Vipers going 13 percent from the three-point range.
The Bighorns next travel to Los Angeles to face the Los Angeles D-Fenders Thursday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. before returning to the Reno Events Center Sunday, Jan. 17 to host the Oklahoma City Blue.
