LOWELL, Mass. - Jon DiSalvatore's first hat trick of the season helped lead the Lowell Devils to a 4-1 win over the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday afternoon at the Tsongas Arena. The Devils' victory was the fourth in their last five games and the third in a row on home ice.

DiSalvatore got the scoring started at 5:51 of the first period during a 4-on-3 advantage. Anssi Salmela slid a pass to the near circle that DiSalvatore stepped into and sent a one-timer over the shoulder of Jonathan Bernier.

The Monarchs evened the score with just over two minutes remaining in the opening period after a scramble in front saw the puck trickle to Marty Murray, who shot it past Frazee from just above the goal line.

Despite being outshot 14-8 in the second period, Lowell regained its lead using an opportunistic power play that finished the contest 2-for-4. Petr Vrana found some space on the near hash mark, where he fired the puck through the legs of a Manchester defenseman and past the blocker of Bernier.

Lowell got some breathing room just 1:23 into the third period on DiSalvatore's second of the game. Picking off a pass at center ice, DiSalvatore skated across the blueline and rocketed a 55-footer from the right wing that found the back of the net.

DiSalvatore capped off his hat trick on an empty-netter with only 3.3 seconds remaining in the game for his team-leading 13th goal of the season.

Frazee made 33 saves, including stopping a David Meckler penalty shot at 13:20 of the third period, for his 10th victory of the season. The Devils' penalty kill unit was 5-for-5 and perfect for a third straight game.
