LEOMINSTER, Mass. (Friday, April, 5, 2013) - The Dirt Dawgs are excited to announce the signings of pitchers Matt Cambria and pitcher Austin Mock for the 2013 season.

"We are excited about the additions of Matt and Austin to the team this summer," said Scott Lettre, Director of Baseball Operations, "They both have performed well so far in their spring seasons and we can't wait to see what they can do at Doyle Field."

Cambria, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound junior right-hander from Toronto, Ontario, joins the team from Post University, a Division II team in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) that is located in Waterbury, CT.

Cambria has pitched well this season, with a 3-2 record and 23 strikeouts. In his first game of the season against Virginia Wesleyan, he pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run, with 1 strikeout. During his second game against Concordia, he pitched 7 strong innings, only giving up 1 hit, and did not let a single run cross the plate. In his third game against Southern Connecticut State, he threw 7 innings, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits, and had 4 strikeouts during the game.

Cambria is looking forward to helping the Dirt Dawgs win this season.

"I am really excited to join the Dirt Dawgs and help win some games," said Cambria.

Mock, a 6-foot, 200-pound sophomore right-hander from State College, PA, joins the team from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Division II team and a member of the Pennsylvania State Collegiate Conference (PSAC).

Mock has played well for the Hawks, both pitching and playing third base in the field. He has hit .255 with 4 RBIs and a 2-2 record on the mound with a 3.95 ERA.

His performances this year have helped the team to a 13-10 overall record. His versatility to play both positions will be a big help for the Dirt Dawgs this summer.

In his senior year at State College high school in State College, PA, Mock hit .368 with 2 home runs and 20 RBIs to help his team to a 12-6 record.

Mock is excited for his summer with the Dirt Dawgs.
