Rochester Brigade News Release

(Rochester, NY)-Head Coach Mark Saunders announced that Quarterback Jason Visconti and OL/DL Antonio Dingle have been assigned to the Rochester Brigade from the arenafootball2 league office for the upcoming 2003 season.

Visconti, 6’2, 215 lbs, out of Wesley College was the team’s backup quarterback last season, seeing limited action throughout 2002. He dressed in all 16 regular season games, including the first round of the playoffs, and completed 17 of 36 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns. His biggest accomplishment came in the final game of the regular season when he played the second half, completing 15 of 28 passes for 201 yards and three scores. Visconti is the number one all-time passer at Wesley College, passing for 7,739 yards and going 555 for 994 all while throwing 77 touchdowns. Visconti was also named the starter in the Aztec Bowl the Division III All-Star Game.

“Jason (Jason Visconti) is a fine young talent and I’m happy to have him back,” stated Saunders. “I feel very comfortable putting him at the position and letting him play.”

Dingle, 6’2, 315 lbs, out of the University of Virginia played in 15 games as a Lineman for the Brigade during the 2002 season, where he registered 20.5 tackles (14 solo), 9.5 sacks (team high), 6.5 tackles for a loss of yards, four forced fumbles and one pass breakup. Dingle earned the honor of being named the Built Ford Tough Player of the game by his coaches on three occasions (4/19/02 Mohegan, 5/24/02 Greensboro and 6/08/02 Richmond). The New York Dragons of the Arena Football League (AFL) recently waived Dingle.

“Antonio (Antonio Dingle), is an AFL caliber player and it’s unfortunate that things didn’t work out, but we welcome him back with open arms and are happy that he’ll be a part of this team,” stated Saunders.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Dingle in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He later played in nine games with the Green Bay Packers. He spent the following two seasons with the Scottish Claymores in the NFLEL (NFL Europe League) before joining the Brigade in 2002.
