Dillon Serna Undergoes Successful Procedure on Left Tibia
June 15, 2022 - MLS NEXT Pro (MLS NEXT Pro)
Colorado Rapids 2 News Release
Colorado Rapids 2 midfielder Dillon Serna has undergone a successful procedure on his left tibia, the club announced today. Serna will immediately begin his rehabilitation process, which is expected to last eight to 12 weeks, barring any complications.
"It is certainly a disappointing setback for Dillon after his strong start to the year. He has proven his ability to handle adversity and we know he will come back from the injury stronger. We look forward to his return in the coming weeks," said Rapids 2 General Manager Brian Crookham.
A product of the Rapids Academy, Serna made his professional debut with the club as a Homegrown Player in 2013. The 27-year-old made 112 appearances across all competitions during his seven seasons with the Rapids, recording 12 goals and three assists in that span. After spending two years away with Sporting KC II and Switchbacks FC in USL, Serna returned to Rapids 2 this season and played all 90 minutes of the first match of the MLS NEXT Pro season prior to sustaining his injury.
Rapids 2 face Tacoma Defiance this Saturday, June 18 at the Starfire Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. MT.
