
DiFelice, Abreu shut down Bears

NEWARK, NJ - August 26, 2006 - Camden Riversharks starting pitcher Mark DiFelice (10-8) pitched a complete game shutout allowing only three hits for his second career shutout and left-fielder Denny Abreu drove in three runs and scored two to beat the Newark Bears 5-0 in game one of a doubleheader Monday evening at Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium
Camden took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first with back-to-back run scoring singles by center-fielder Dwight Maness and catcher John Pachot. They would add two more runs in the top of the second with a two-run single by Abreu to take a 4-0 lead. In the top of the fifth, Abreu hit his 11th home run of the season to put the Riversharks ahead 5-0. Abreu finished the game 3-for-3.
Joe Gannon (6-8) took the loss after allowing five runs on five hits in six innings pitched striking out five.
For the Bears second baseman Matt Brunson went 2-for-3 with two singles, and left-fielder Al Benjamin went 1-for-3 with a single.
