
Diesel Sign Six for 2004 Camp

Kearney, Nebraska-The Tri-City Diesel is proud to announce the invitation of six more athletes into 2004 camp. Included in the six invitations is 2001 Defensive MVP for the Sioux City Bandits, Robert Sills. Sills, a 5'11" 210 pound defensive back has been with the Sioux City Bandits the last three years.
Earl Henry, 5'11" 230 pound linebacker from Pittsburgh State University (KS) will play in his first year of the NIFL. While at Pittsburgh State, Earl received 1st Team All-American honors and helped the Gorillas to an 11-2 record and a MIAA Conference Title with a birth into the NCAA Division II playoffs. Henry tallied a total of 129 tackles in 2003 and received the prestigious Carnie Smith Award as the teams most outstanding player.
Tay Schumaker, 6'3" 310 pound offensive lineman from Mid-American Nazarene University (KS) will also join the Diesel in 2004. This 2-time All-HAAC Conference lineman and NAIAFOOTBALL.NET All-American paved the way for a record setting offense that helped record the schools first undefeated regular season and repeated as HAAC Conference champions.
Robert Peay, 5'10" 210 pound defensive back from Hastings College will be a newcomer for the Diesel in 2004. Robert earned 1st team All-GPAC and NAIAFOOTBALL.NET All-American honor for the Broncos while registering 58 total tackles, four tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, and one interception.
Maliki Dewitt, 5'7" 225 running back from Walla Walla JC in Washington will also be joining the Diesel in 2004. Maliki was an All-star performer with the Kitt County Jaguars. Maliki won an invitation to camp through his performance in the last Diesel try-out camp.
Kahil Jones, 6'1" 215 quarterback will be competing for the starting position for the Diesel in 2004. Last year Kahil spent time with the Bismarck Roughriders before going to Europe to finish the season with the Finland (EFAF) team where he lead the Crocodiles with 451 total yards and six TD's in two games.
There is more news to come about these new and exciting players that will be with the Tri-City Diesel for the 2004 season.
