Diesel Roll, Offense Breaks More Records

The Tri-City Diesel improved their record to 2-0 with a 38-28 win over the LaCrosse Night Train and broke several team records in the process.

Diesel running back Sherman Jones had another big night running behind an impressive offensive line. Jones carried the ball 23 times, breaking the team record of 21 set by Dale Van Housen against the Night Train in 2002. He also picked up 88 yards rushing breaking his own record of 87, which he set last weekend against the Oklahoma Crude.

Quarterback Roger Linn hooked up with receiver Kevin Rhaburn for a 48-yard touchdown tying the team records for longest pass and reception set by Justin Coleman and Greg Albright against the Sioux City Bandits in 2002. The offense also broke the team record for total rushes in a game with 40, the previous record of 35 was set in 2001 against the Southern Oregon Heat.

The win brings the Diesel to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Pacific North Division. The Sioux City Bandits come to town this Saturday for another divisional game, with kickoff at 7:35 p.m. at the Tri-City Arena.
