Kearney, NEâThe Tri-City Diesel are looking to clinch their first ever playoff spot this Saturday, May 22nd with a win over the Wichita Falls Thunder. The win will give the Diesel the Pacific South Division crown and also get them a ticket into the 2004 NIFL Playoffs. "This is an exciting time for our program and winning the Pacific South Division crown has been our number one goal all season. But right now our complete focus is on trying to defeat Wichita Falls," says Diesel Head Coach, Robert Fuller.
The Diesel have faced the Wichita Falls Thunder twice already this year and have came away with wins both times. The first meeting of the year turned out to be the toughest, a 47-42 Diesel win. However the Diesel were not so nice the next time the two teams faced each other this time in Kearney, the Diesel won 48-19. "Trying to defeat any opponent three times in one season is a tough task but one that we are really looking forward to," said Fuller.
