Tri-City Diesel News Release
Kearney, Ne â The Tri-City Diesel announced today the resignation of three-year head coach, Leland Skeen. "The reason for me stepping down was because of other opportunities that have come up in recent months and I would like to pursue these opportunities. I will stay with the Diesel throughout the coaching transition and will continue as an advertising executive for the Diesel," Skeen added.
Upon receiving the resignation the Diesel staff started an immediate search for a new coach. "We have started interviewing coaches and will name a new head coach in the next couple of days. We are not only interviewing someone for the head position but we will also be filling the Offensive Coordinator position as well," said Diesel General Manager, Mike Skeen.
Skeen helped get the Diesel off the ground in 2001 when he was hired as the inaugural head coach. Before coming to the Diesel he was head coach/athletic director at Kenesaw High School.
