Dichow Commits to Wolves

April 6, 2020 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Sudbury Wolves News Release

(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that Danish import goaltender Frederik Dichow has committed to the hockey club. The 19-year-old goaltender was selected by the Wolves in the first round of the 2019 Import Selection (41st overall) and played last season for the Malmö Redhawks J20 in the Swedish Super Elite league.

"I am super excited and can't wait to get to Sudbury," said the Montreal Canadiens prospect. "After the draft last year, Ukko-Pekka reached out to me and let me know it is a great place to play and develop. I look forward to meeting the coaches and all my new teammates. I hear the fans and support are awesome in Sudbury and I want to help the Wolves win," he added.

"We are extremely happy and excited that Frederik has made the commitment to the Sudbury Wolves for next season," said VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. "When we drafted Freddy, we knew that it was much more likely for the 2020- 2021 season and we kept in close contact with both Montreal and his representatives. He is a big athletic goalie who has a very high ceiling and we look forward to seeing him in a Wolves jersey this fall."

Dichow was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 5th round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. In 24 games last season, he had a goals against average of 2.84 and a save percentage of .891. He also appeared in two games for Denmark at the Under-20 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic.
