Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to today's game against the Mobile BayBears at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville at 3:05 p.m.

Jumbo Shrimp second baseman Isan Diaz has been placed on the disabled list with a concussion, retroactive to Friday May 18. Diaz has not played since Wednesday when he was hit in the helmet by a pitch against the Montgomery Biscuits. Diaz has played in 37 games for the Jumbo Shrimp, hitting .194 with four home runs and 13 RBI, and he is listed by MLB.com as the Miami Marlins No. 7 prospect.

In a corresponding move, infielder Luis Pintor has been transferred from Marlins extended spring training to Jacksonville. Pintor had played earlier this season for High-A Jupiter, where in eight games he hit .207 (6-for-29) with no home runs and five runs batted in. Pintor, 22, is a native of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, and this is the first call-up to the Double-A level in his career.

The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players.

The Jumbo Shrimp continue their series with Mobile at 3:05 p.m. Sunday, when Jacksonville right-hander Cody Poteet (2-3) is scheduled to face BayBears right-hander Jose Suarez (1-1) Gates open at 2 p.m., when families can play catch on the field, followed by player autographs as part of Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday. Kids activities will be in the Wolfson Children's Hospital Kids Zone. Elmo will be meeting fans, and following the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases. For Navy Mutual Life Insurance Military Appreciation Day, veterans, active, retired and former military and their dependents receive free general admission or reserved tickets by showing an active military or veteran ID at the box office. The Jumbo Shrimp will wear camo jerseys. The game is presented by Easy 102.9.
