The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs (25-18) and the Saugerties Stallions (14-29) both had scoring chances on Tuesday, but it was the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 2-1 win at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field.
Drew Arciuolo (Fairfield University) reached base four times. He singled in the third inning.
David Palmer (University of New Haven) picked up the win for the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. Palmer pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and one walk while striking out six.
Anthony Rocco (Pace University) had an impressive outing against the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs' lineup. The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs managed just three hits off of the the Saugerties Stallions' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked seven and struck out four during his six innings of work.
Collin Duffley (UMass Lowell) (1-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
