Diamondbacks Announce 2014 South Bend Silver Hawks Coaching Staff

South Bend, Indiana (December 20, 2013)- The Arizona Diamondbacks have named their 2014 Minor League coaching staff for your 2013 Eastern Division Champs, South Bend Silver Hawks. Mark Haley, Silver Hawks Manager, will be returning for his 10th season.

Haley has been with your South Bend Silver Hawks since 2005 and was named Manager of the Year in the Midwest League in 2005, 2008 and 2013. His 2013 team was his 6th Silver Hawks team to qualify for the Midwest League Playoffs. Also returning to the Silver Hawks for their second season are Jason Camilli, Hitting Coach, and Skyler Zarndt, Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Two new additions to the Silver Hawks staff are Doug Bochtler, Pitching coach, and Rafael Freitas, Trainer. Bochtler is a former Major League pitcher from 1995-2000. Bochtler spent six seasons in the Major Leagues with San Diego, Detroit, Kansas City and the Los Angeles Dodgers, posting a 9-18 overall record with a 4.57 ERA as a relief pitcher. Bochtler was a ninth-round pick out of high school by the Montreal Expos in the 1989 draft. Bochtler is joining the Silver Hawks from Class A Short-Season Yakima.

The South Bend Silver Hawks are a Class A minor league team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team is owned and operated by Swing-Batter-Swing, LLC whose sole shareholder is Andrew T. Berlin of Chicago, IL.
