(Central Islip, N.Y., July 20, 2011) - The Long Island Ducks today announced that Diamond Gear Sports, the official clothing company of Ducks' outfielder Kennard Jones, will be launching on Thursday, July 21 at Bethpage Ballpark. To help celebrate, Jones' father-in-law and Major League Baseball Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn will be at the ballpark to sign a limited edition of the merchandise and throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase Diamond Gear Sports apparel at the Waddle-In Shop throughout the remainder of the season. The first 50 pieces sold of these limited edition items will be signed by Gwynn himself. Jones will join Ducks' infielder Ray Navarrete among team members who have clothing available for purchase at the Waddle-In Shop. Apparel from Navarrete's Digmi clothing line has been on sale all season long.
The Long Island Ducks play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark and are in their 12th season of play. Tickets for the 2011 season are on sale now.
