St. John's Fog Devils News Release

t. John's (December 19, 2007) - The St. John's Fog Devils have made their second move of the December Trade Period, shipping defenseman William Beaudoin (12-11-90) to the Val d'Or Foreurs for winger Henrick Lavoie (01-14-88). The teams also swapped Import Draft picks and Entry Draft picks. Thus, the deal is as follows:

To VdO:

William Beaudoin

2008 1st round selection in CHL Import Draft

2008 6th round selection in QMJHL Midget Entry Draft

To SNL:

Henrick Lavoie

2008 1st round selection in CHL Import Draft

2008 4th round selection in QMJHL Midget Entry Draft (originally property of the Rimouski Oceanic)

In Lavoie, the Fog Devils are getting a former first round selection from the 2004 Midget Entry Draft who is known for his grit and checking. He also has some offensive upside, according to Fog Devils head coach and GM Real Paiement:

"He's a big strong young man that brings a physical part to the game. He's a strong leader, the type of player that when the playoffs come he'll be an important part of things and to the march to the playoffs as well. He can play on one of our top two lines or play as a checker, we're very happy to have him join us. We think he's the type of player that makes us better."

This move comes only two days after a blockbuster trade that sent Ryan Graham and Kyle Stanley to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for Mathieu Labrie and Samuel Grenache.

The trade period concludes on January 8, 2008.
