Waza Flo News Release
The Detroit WAZA FLO has re-signed goaltender Joey Kapinos for the 2013-2014 season. Joey had the best Rookie debut in the Professional Area Soccer League (PASL) last season winning 2nd Team All-League honors, as well as holding the record for most wins, at 13.
The team made it to the Ron Newman Cup Championship game last year, but was defeated by San Diego 8-6. According to Detroit WAZA FLO's President, Mario Scicluna, "Joey was an instrumental piece in getting us to the top. He was a vital part of us being able to play in the Championship game. He is a huge part of our plan to continue our ascent to winning it all."
Joey is just as excited about this signing stating, "Re-signing with WAZA FLO is like coming back to family. It is a family you are a part of and one you know can go far. It is the championship or bust this season!" He went on to say that if you have not watched this brand of indoor, high-intensity soccer, you should. "I promise that you will come see us again once you experience this super-fast, high-scoring game of soccer. I'm not making two saves a game, I'm making 22," joked Kapinos.
The Detroit WAZA FLO opens their regular season and begins their quest to capture the Ron Newman Cup, on Saturday, November 9 vs. Harrisburg. You can see them at their home arena at 7:05 p.m. The arena is located at 4300 S Dearborn St, Melvindale, MI.
