Detroit, Southern California to Challenge Legends

March 17, 2002 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Indiana Legends News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. March 17--Two tough challengers will provide the competition for the Indiana Legends Monday and Tuesday as defending ABA champion Detroit and Southern California each make their first appearance at Arlington High School. Detroit entered a game Sunday at Kentucky tied with Indiana for fourth place in the league standings, the second-place Surf are trying to keep alive a slim hope of catching league-leading Kansas City.

The Dogs and Legends have split their four previous games with Indiana winning one of three at Detroit. A win would match Coach Freddie Lewis' team's longest winning string of the season at three. The Legends have yet to best the Surf, losing once at home and twice at Anaheim. Both games tip off at 7:30 pm. Arlington High School is located at 4825 N. Arlington Ave. on the north east side of Indianapolis. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. For more information call 290-1947.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
