
ABA 2001-2002 Playoffs

The locations of the 2001- 2002 have now been set. The locations are Anaheim, Ca and Las Vegas, NV, home of the SOCal Surf and the Las Vegas Slam. The Playoffs begin on Wednesday April 10 in Anaheim at the Convention Center and concluding in Las Vegas April 11th-12th. The ABA playoffs will be a single elimination tournament.
The top team, the Kansas City Knights lead by Pete Mickeal and David Vanterpool, will have a first round bye and move on to the second round. The first game at approx. 12 p.m. on Wednesday will have the Phoenix Eclipse and the Detroit Dogs squaring off. Phoenix's leading scorer is Jamel Thomas who is averaging 26.8 ppg and Detroit's top dog is Carlos Williams who averages 21.7 ppg. The second game showcases the Las Vegas Slam and the Indiana Legends at approx. 2:30 p.m. Las Vegas brings in two former NBA players Cedric Ceballos who averages 26.8 ppg and Derrick Martin who Averages 16.9 ppg. The Legends bring in two sharp shooters Micheal Hart and Colecio Buie who will try and gun down the slam. The third and final game will be at approx. 7 p.m. with the California Surf taking on the Kentucky ProCats. The Surf brings in their talented former NBA players of Chris Morris, Fred Vinson who is averaging 20 ppg and Oliver Miller. The three teams to advance and Kansas City will play second round games on April 11th in Las Vegas. The championship game will be played on Friday April 12 at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. The start time will be announced in the next day or two.
