
Detroit Shock Sign Stacey Lovelace

Auburn Hills, MI - Detroit Shock Head Coach and General Manager Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has signed free-agent forward/center Stacey Lovelace to a contract. Per team policy, details of the contract were not disclosed.
Lovelace was waived by the Atlanta Dream on July 9, 2008. The Detroit native was signed by the Dream as a free agent in the 2008 expansion draft. She appeared in 15 games with the Dream this season, including seven starts, and posted averages of 6.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 17.2 minutes per game.
In her seventh season in the WNBA, Lovelace spent last season with the Washington Mystics before signing with the Dream this off-season. Lovelace spent two seasons each with the Seattle Storm and Minnesota Lynx, before being acquired by the Chicago Sky in the 2005 WNBA Expansion Draft.
The six-year veteran has career WNBA averages of 5.0 points, 2.6 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game.
