
Detroit Shock Announce 2008 Playoff Tickets On-Sale

AUBURN HILLS, MI. - On Friday, September 5, the Detroit Shock will put tickets for the 2008 WNBA Playoffs on-sale, starting at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at The Palace Box Office, at all TicketMaster outlets, online at www.detroitshock.com or by calling 248-377-0100.
The top four seeds in each conference advance to the postseason. Specific playoff dates and game times will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season. Individual match-ups are also TBD.
The first round of the playoffs is a best-two-out-of-three format, and begins on either Thursday, September 18 or Friday, September 19 at the home site of the lower seed. The higher seed hosts the second game and, if necessary, the third game of the series.
The second round of the playoffs is also a best-two-out-of-three format, and runs from September 25-28 with game one of the Conference Finals at the home site of the lower seed on September 25.
The finals is a best-three-out-of-five, 2-2-1 format, with the higher seed hosting the first two games and a possible fifth game, and the lower seed hosting game three and, if necessary, game four. The last possible date for the 2008 WNBA Playoffs is Thursday, October 9.
This is the seventh overall appearance for Detroit in the WNBA Playoffs and its sixth in a row since winning the 2003 WNBA Championship.
