Detroit Hoops News Release
Detroit, MI. The ABA Detroit Hoops President/CEO, Gerald Watson II, was the Keynote Speaker last week at Little Rock Baptist Church in Detroit for the 7th and 8th grade class of Detroit Academy Arts and Sciences. Gerald spoke to the students about the great achievements they have made thus far in their young lives and how they should never forget their dreams and continue to work hard to achieve them.
He went on to speak about how he continues to set goals in his life and how his hard work has brought him success. "Following your dreams never stops even for me after becoming an owner in the ABA of a professional basketball team," stated Watson. "This is just another blessing and dream fulfilled."
The students, their families and others guests really enjoyed the speech and later were given FREE passes to see the Detroit Hoops play a Pre-Season benefit game against Hot 102.7FM WHTD (a Radio One station) on June 20th. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Hoop Dreams Foundation, a not-for-profit charity that works with the youth in metro Detroit which focuses on Drug Prevention, Academics and Athletics. Mr. Watson is also a candidate for Detroit City Council.
