Destroyers Sign Former Bengals Defensive Lineman Tony Williams

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 2007 National Conference champion Columbus Destroyers, presented by Germain, signed free agents defensive lineman Tony Williams, linebacker Lee Foliaki, offensive lineman Cody Douglas and defensive lineman Jon Simmons, Head Coach Doug Kay announced today. As is club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Williams (6-2, 295, Memphis), a nine-year veteran of the NFL, has spent time with the Minnesota Vikings (1997-2000), the Cincinnati Bengals (2001-04) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2006). In 101 games played, the Germantown, Tenn. native has tallied 133 tackles (82UT-52AT) and 22 sacks as a defensive lineman. A fifth round (151st overall) draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 1997, he was a member of the 1998 team that finished with a record of 15-1, one of only four teams in NFL history to finish with that record.

Foliaki (6-2, 245, Texas A&M) tallied 108 tackles (43UT-65AT), four sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 19 games at Texas A&M University (2004-05). As a junior he was named the Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In 2003, he was a member of Butler County C.C. (Kan.) NJCAA championship team. The Euless, Texas native earned Most Valuable Player honors in the championship game.

Douglas (6-4, 330, Tennessee) signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans in 2006, he spent the season on the practice squad. A four-year letterman at the University of Tennessee (2002-05), he played in 45 games at right guard and left guard on the offensive line. The LaMarque, Texas native played in three bowl games in his college career, the 2002 and 2003 Peach Bowl and the 2004 Cotton Bowl.

Simmons (6-5, 250, South Florida), a four-year letterman at the University of South Florida (2002-05), appeared in 40 games for the Bulls as a defensive lineman. The St. Petersburg, Fla. native logged in 22 tackles (10UT-12AT), 5.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two passes defended and one fumble recovery. He was a member of the 2005 Bulls team that played in the Meineke Car Care Bowl, USF's first-ever bowl appearance.
