COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Destroyers have signed linebacker Jermaine Petty and offensive lineman Jason Hilliard, Head Coach Doug Kay announced today.
Petty (6-2, 250, Arkansas) spent the 2006 season with the Quad City Steamwheelers of the arenafootball2 league. In six games he tallied 16 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. One of the most hallowed linebackers in Arkansas history, Petty was named First-Team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association and First-Team All-Southeastern Conference in 2001. After being released by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2002 he signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2003 and was allocated to the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe.
Hilliard (6-6, 320, Louisville) suited up in two contests for the New York Giants in 2004 and will be making his debut in the Arena Football League in 2007.
