Columbus Destroyers News Release
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 2007 National Conference champion Columbus Destroyers presented by Germain have signed defensive back Rober' Freeman and center Will Rabatin to one-year contract extensions, Head Coach Doug Kay announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Freeman (5-8, 185, Clark [Ga.]) will enter his second season with the Destroyers and fourth in the AFL in 2008. Despite suffering a season-ending knee injury Week 10 against the New York Dragons, he finished third on the team with 58.5 tackles (52UT-13AT), and added one interception and two pass breakups.
Rabatin (6-2, 305, Louisville) started all 16 regular season contests for the Destroyers at center. In his first-year in the AFL, he anchored the offensive line for all 800 plays in 2007. The Louisville, Ky. native was part of an offensive front that surrendered 13 sacks, the fewest in franchise history.
