
Destroyers close out 2005 season at home May 22

COLUMBUS, OH â The Columbus Destroyers close out their 2005 season by hosting the Tampa Bay Storm on Sunday, May 22 at 3 p.m. at Nationwide Arena. Fans are invited to come down early to enjoy the food, fun and music when the Sugardale Pre-Game Bash kicks off at 12:30 p.m. on the west plaza located at the corner of Nationwide Blvd. and McConnell Blvd. Doors for the game open at 2 p.m.
The band Six-Pack Theory provides the music for the afternoon and food from Cotters and Roosters restaurants, including Sugardale hot dogs, will be available on the plaza. Also during the pre-game party, one lucky fan will win a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportser courtesy of Bud Light, Budweiser and A.D. Farrow Harley Davidson.
Just prior to kick-off, more than 300 kids representing the 2005 Columbus Destroyers "Touchdown Thursday" program presented by NBC 4 and Fifth Third Bank will line the field to form a tunnel and cheering section during player introductions. These kids took part in the inaugural "Touchdown Thursday" program in which players, coaches and Bombshells visited a variety of community organizations the week of each home game.
The festivities continue with the Germain FANtastic Car Giveaway during which the winner of the halftime competition gets to choose between a new 2005 Lexus IS300, a 2005 Mercedes C230, a 2005 Ford Mustang, a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, a 2005 Nissan Frontier a 2005 Chevy Silverado or a 2005 Cadillac CTS courtesy of Germain Motor Company. One fan in attendance that day will be chosen to compete in the halftime contest along with several pre-selected contestants. As another bonus to fans in attendance for the final home game, all Destroyers merchandise will be 10% off in The Blueline.
Finally, fans are reminded to help the Destroyers TACKLE HUNGER with the Mid-Ohio FoodBank. Every fan who brings a non-perishable food item to the game will receive a raffle ticket for each item donated for the chance(s) to win a team-signed Columbus Destroyers football which will be awarded during the fourth quarter.

Tickets are also available at the Blue Jackets Zones located at Chiller Dublin, Chiller Easton and Chiller North. All tickets are subject to service charges and facility fees.
