COLUMBUS, OHIO – In support of the Columbus Destroyers' top community initiative, TACKLE HUNGER, bd's Mongolian Barbeque presents "Tip the Destroyers Night" to benefit the Mid-Ohio FoodBank on Wednesday, April 20 from 6-9 p.m. For one night only, the entire team including players, coaches, broadcasters, The Bombshells, End Zoners and mascot Bruiser, will be spread out among the three Columbus area bd's Mongolian Barbeque locations to wait tables, serve food, and mingle with guests at the grill to earn tips that will be donated to the Mid-Ohio FoodBank to help feed the hungry in central Ohio.

In addition to tipping their favorite players and Destroyers personalities, guests may support the cause by purchasing raffle tickets to win exclusive prizes including a chance to attend practice as a special guest of Head Coach Chris Spielman. That evening, Coach Spielman will make appearances at all three bd's Mongolian Barbeque locations – in Dublin, at Easton and in the Arena District – to meet fans and thank them for their support. For a complete list of players expected to appear at respective locations, visit www.ColumbusDestroyers.com or call (614) 246-4168.

"An event like this is a great way for our fans to help us TACKLE HUNGER in our community and support the important services provided by the Mid-Ohio FoodBank," said TACKLE HUNGER player spokesperson Sedrick Robinson.

In addition to participating in events with the Mid-Ohio FoodBank, the Columbus Destroyers organization collects canned goods at each home game, volunteers at area soup kitchens during the season, and helps pack food boxes at the Mid-Ohio FoodBank warehouse. Fans who bring non-perishable food items to the home Destroyers games receive a raffle ticket for each item collected, and are entered into a drawing that day for a 2005 Columbus Destroyers team signed football.

The Mid-Ohio FoodBank keeps food shelves stocked for a network of more than 550 emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, senior dining centers, day care and after-school enrichment programs. The FoodBank distributes more than 2 million pounds of groceries a month, enough food to provide 35,000 meals every day.
