
Destroyers add DS Jeremy Unertl

COLUMBUS, OH â The Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers have claimed defensive specialist Jeremy Unertl off waivers from the Las Vegas Gladiators, the club announced today. Unertl joins the Destroyers after spending the past season and a half with the Gladiators.
Unertl (6-1, 210, Wisconsin-La Crosse) registered 32 tackles (28 solo), three pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in seven games with Las Vegas this season. Prior to entering the AFL, Unertl spent time with the NFL's Baltimore Ravens (2002) and Green Bay Packers (2002, 2003).
Unertl was allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy for the 2003 NFL Europe League season, where he finished with 29 tackles (26 solo), nine pass breakups and one forced fumble. In World Bowl XI Unertl recorded six tackles as Frankfurt defeated the Rhein Fire, 35-16.
In other personnel moves, the Destroyers activated wide receiver/defensive back Lenzie Jackson of injured reserve and waived defensive specialist Justin Isom before signing him to the practice squad.
The Destroyers are back in action this Saturday, April 16 when the club travels to New Orleans to face the VooDoo at the New Orleans Arena. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. (ET).
