Dallas Desperados News Release
The Dallas Desperados of the Arena Football League have joined forces with The Dallas Morning News to create "Book Blitz," a reading program aimed at schoolchildren. The program kicks off in February and runs until April.
Book Blitz offers prizes from the Desperados to encourage students to read more. It is a weekly series that offers children step-by-step assistance for building reading skills. With quizzes and special features, Book Blitz takes students through a variety of reading genres and shows them how to get the most out of the reading experience.
There is also a writing contest, offering the chance for students to have their work published in The Dallas Morning News. Every student will also receive a free Dallas Desperados poster that includes lessons on the back. It's a program that's sure to be a fun and educational experience for all those involved.
Teachers can enroll in this FREE program by visiting nie.dallasnews.com, download the order form and fax in their delivery information. The deadline to order is Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Ten (10) teachers who enroll will win tickets to a Dallas Desperados home game for their whole class.
