Dallas Desperados News Release

Dallas Desperados WR/LB Bobby Sippio and FB/LB Kevin Aldridge – a former standout at Southern Methodist University – each signed with NFL clubs during the last couple of weeks. Sippio will join the Miami Dolphins in training camp this weekend, while Aldridge will attend camp with the St. Louis Rams.

"Both Bobby and Kevin have the ability to make it in the NFL," states Desperados head coach Will McClay. "Bobby's the type of player that can help us be a successful franchise in the future and that has the ability to play on Sunday. The reason we signed Kevin off the Titans practice roster is because he has the ability to play on Sunday, as well as the talent to be a good arena player. We wish both of them the best of luck."

Sippio finished his inaugural Arena Football League season with a league-high 16.2 yards-per-catch average while leading all rookies with a team-record 32 touchdown catches (tied for fifth in the league). He also finished second among league rookies with 1,218 receiving yards (10th in league) and third among rookies with 75 catches. He closed the season with 33 total touchdowns and 200 points, both establishing club records. In addition to his catches, he also registered 10 kickoff returns for 191 yards, two missed field goal returns for 51 yards, 25 tackles and two interceptions returned for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Aldridge, who made his indoor debut last spring, saw action in nine games before straining his left groin and being placed on Reserve/Injured April 23, forcing him to miss the final six games of the year. He finished the spring with 17.5 tackles, two passes defensed, 1.5 stops for losses, a sack and an interception on the defensive side of the ball while finishing second on the team with 51 rushing yards and two touchdowns on nine carries and catching three passes for 22 yards on the offensive side. The Jacksonville, Tex., native was an All-WAC defensive lineman at SMU.
