Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados will hold their only mini-camp of the offseason Thursday, Jan. 8 through Saturday, Jan. 10. Practices will take place at Texas Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, alternative practice sites will be determined at that time.

The team's first gathering of its players since falling to the Georgia Force in the playoffs last May will be an opportunity for players and coaches to become more familiar with the many new faces on Dallas' roster this spring. Linemen are not required to attend the practices.

The team will be put through the paces twice each day, beginning with their first practice Thursday morning and concluding Saturday afternoon.

Following this weekend's mini-camp, the Desperados will take Sunday off before opening training camp on Monday, Jan. 12. This year's camp includes two days of workouts with the Austin Wranglers at Texas Stadium and three days of workouts with the New Orleans VooDoo in New Orleans. All practices in Dallas will take place at Texas Stadium unless inclement weather requires changing venues. Training camp will open with 37 players vying to make the final 24-man roster. Attached is a tentative daily schedule of events for training camp.

The Dallas Desperados kick off the 2004 season on Feb. 8 by hosting the Carolina Cobras at the American Airlines Center. Season ticket packages are available by calling the Desperados ticket office at 972-785-4900 or by visiting the Desperados official website at www.dallasdesperados.com.
