Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados four-game winning streak came to an end Saturday night as they fell to the undefeated San Jose SaberCats 58-41. Dallas was able to get on the scoreboard first and answered back throughout the first half but were unable to hold off San Jose's offensive surges. Shannon Culver is continuing to shine after stepping in for the injured Dialleo Burks. Last week, Culver recorded a season high 132 yards and four touchdowns on nine receptions.

This week, the Detroit Fury come to Harrah's Field at American Airlines Center. The Fury fell to the New Jersey Gladiators last week 62-45. Dallas will be looking to go 2-0 against Central Division opponents. Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Desperados begin preparations for the Fury Tuesday morning at American Airlines Center, where they will also practice Wednesday morning. Dallas returns to Texas Stadium for practices Thursday and Friday. Due to the July 4th Independence Day Holiday, Coach Avezzano will not hold his weekly press luncheon this week. The luncheon will continue next Thursday, July 11.
