Desmond Clark Hosts Three-Day Weekend

LAKELAND- Sports fans, it's time once again for the Desmond Clark Celebrity Weekend, June 23, 24 and 26, in Lakeland, FL to help benefit the children in the Lakeland community. This is a weekend the whole family can enjoy with a celebrity basketball game, free football clinic for the children and a chance to play some golf with celebrities from several different sports as well as appearances by the Lakeland ThunderBolts players, coaches and dance team.

The weekend tips off with the celebrity basketball game on Friday, June 23 at 7pm. The ThunderBolts Dancers, sponsored by Lifestyles Family Fitness, have been asked to perform during halftime and to help out with different promotions throughout the game. The Desmond Clark All-Stars will take on radio personalities from Tampa's 95.7 the Beat at Kathleen High School. Cost for advance tickets are $8 students and $10 general admission. Ticket purchased day the event will be $10 for students and $12 for general admission.

The Sixth Annual Desmond Clark Football Camp will take place on Saturday, June 24, from 8am-4pm. This one-day camp will be held at Kathleen High School, for boys and girls between the ages of 8-15 and is free to the first 200 kids. The camp will teach the fundamental of offense, defense, special teams and basic knowledge of the game. The ThunderBolts players will be assisting with the camp as well other professional celebrities.

The weekend will end on Monday, June 26th at 9am with the Desmond Clark Celebrity Golf Classic at the Lone Palm Golf Course. Golfers will play in a four man scramble with the opportunity to play with Desmond Clark and other NFL stars. The ThunderBolts Dance Team will assist with the beverage carts, keeping the golfers hydrated.

This is Desmond Clark's third year hosting the celebrity weekend that will benefit the children in the Lakeland community. The proceeds from the celebrity basketball game will be used to purchase computers for a local youth charity and proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit First Tee of Lakeland.
