
Dery's Two Points Not Enough, IceRays Lose 4-2

WICHITA FALLS, TX - Michael Dery scored a goal and assisted another as the IceRays fell to the Wichita Falls Wildcats 4-2 in front of over 5,000 fans inside Kay Yeager Coliseum.
After no scoring midway through the first period, Matt Purmal broke the scoreless game 11:06 into regulation beating Anthony Stolarz for a 1-0 lead.
Just 6:41 later, Renato Engler deflected a shot from the point from Sergei Soloviev giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead after the first period.
Chris Taff split the lead in half as he took a rebound inside the hash marks and beat the diving Matt Leon for his third goal of the year 12:24 into the middle period.
The Wildcats regained their two goal lead courtesy of Tanner Fahlstedt 15:57 into the second period.
A controversial play gave Wichita Falls a 4-1 lead after two periods on a shot from the point beat Stolarz, however the net was off the pegs. The goal stood and was credited to Zach Pochiro 18:14 into the second period.
The only goal of the third came off the stick of Michael Dery as he buried a one-timer with only 1:13 left to go in regulation.
Anthony Stolarz stopped 32 of 36 shots in the loss.
The IceRays take on the Wildcats tomorrow night as well. Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ESPN Radio 1440AM.
