Denver Dynamite Meets Neighbors in Rivalry Match
December 5, 2008 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Denver Dynamite News Release
The Denver Dynamite may be right down the highway from the Colorado Lightning, a Fort Collins team, but Colorado's two professional arena soccer (PASL-Pro) teams will meet for the first time on the field this Saturday at 7:15 pm at the Denver Sports Center (5555 W. Evans Ave).
"(The players) are really excited to play against our in-state rivals," said co-head coach and player Chris Handsor. The majority of both teams are Colorado natives who have competed with one another throughout their soccer careers, so they go into the game with something to prove, he said. "Its going to be a battle for pride, for bragging rights."
The Dynamite, fresh off last weekend's win against the Wenatchee Fire FC, hope to improve its home record to 3-0 with a win Saturday night.
Handsor and Chuck Estrada, the Dynamite's other co-head coach, watched the Lightning play last weekend and say the team will be tough competition. "It's going to be a fast, competitive, high-scoring game," Handsor said. "There's going to be a lot of action--it'll be explosive."
