Denver Cutthroats Celebrate Opening Weekend

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats will host the Tulsa Oilers on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 for the team's second season in the Central Hockey League. The puck drops at the Denver Coliseum at 7:00 PM on Friday and 6:00 PM on Saturday.

The first 3,500 fans through the doors each day will receive a Cutthroats magnet schedule for the 2013-14 season. The start of the Cutthroats second season will be celebrated over opening weekend with special activities for all fans. Activities include; face painters, balloon animal artists, inflatable bounce house, hockey slap shot cage and Zamboni hayrides in the Coliseum parking lot.

The Denver Cutthroats will continue flood relief support through partnership with A Precious Child. Fans are encouraged to bring sheets and blankets, toiletries, gently used clothing for children and adults, diapers, coats and shoes. Donation bins will be placed at the main entrance prior to the start of both games and will benefit families affected by the floods throughout Colorado's front range.

Three autographed game-worn jerseys from the Cutthroats inaugural season will be featured in a silent auction during both Friday's and Saturday's games. Proceeds will benefit A Precious Child's continued flood relief efforts.

On Saturday, October 19, the Cutthroats will welcome over 15 Olympic hopefuls. The participating athletes will be available for autographs throughout the concourse, starting at 5:00 PM. Confirmed athletes compete in the following events; modern pentathlon, gymnastics, weight lifting, fencing, wrestling and shooting. Appearances are subject to change.
