Denver Cutthroats at Junior Achievement Business Week

DENVER - The Denver Cutthroats were proud to be a part the Junior Achievement Business Week at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, June 9th to 14th, 2013. Members of the Cutthroats' operational staff met with local high school students to discuss sports business and its presence within the community. JA Business Week is an annual summer program that gives local high school students the opportunity to learn about the dynamics of business, leadership concepts and entrepreneurship from 250 professionals throughout the week, while constructing projects for local businesses.

Students were given the challenge to create a hockey day for the Denver Cutthroats. After extensive research, Q&A with Cutthroats staff and a tour of the Denver Coliseum, five teams produced a final presentation and presented it before members of the Denver Cutthroats staff and a panel of judges. The winning team, supervised by Jon Kim of the University of Rock, have been invited back to implement their hockey day prior to the opening game of the 2013-14 season.
