NEWARK, DE - Dec. 2, 2014 - Sioux Falls spoiled Delaware's 2014-15 NBA Development League home opener, defeating the 87ers 115-103 on Tuesday evening.
The Skyforce (3-2), who never trailed in the game, were led by A.J. Davis, who scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. Fuqan Edwin went for 22 points, while front-court mate Khem Birch dropped 20 points and 11 rebounds.
As a team, Sioux Falls shot 14-of-27 (.519) from beyond the arc, led by five triples from Davis. The Skyforce also capitalized on the Sevens' mistakes, scoring 35 points off 29 turnovers.
Delaware (3-2) was paced by rookie forward Ronald Roberts, Jr., who led the team with 22 points and 12 rebounds - good for his fourth double-double in five games.
Melvin Johnson III made half of Delaware's three-pointers, hitting 4-of-7 shots from beyond the arc on the way to a 20-point night.
The 87ers are back in action on Friday, Dec. 5 at home against Canton. Sioux Falls will continue their road trip on Friday, travelling to Erie for a Friday night matchup with the Bayhawks.
