Connecticut Defenders News Release

The Connecticut Defenders are looking for local talent to sing the National Anthem at Dodd Stadium during the 2007 season. The ball club will host tryouts on Saturday, March 17 at the Crystal Mall in Waterford from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Defenders are hosting this event at the Crystal Mall for the second time after a great success in 2006. Judges will be on hand, including Nick Guiliano from the Q105 midday show, and Shawn and Nancy from the Q morning show. Defenders on-field personality Johnny Gill will also help judge the event.

No prior sign ups are required. Participants just need to show up on the first floor, near the Sears Department Store entrance, ready to sing. Both solos and group performers are welcome to tryout. The singing of the Star Spangled Banner will be sponsored by Geico throughout the 2007 season.

The Connecticut Defenders are the Class Double A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and a member of the 12-team Eastern League. Fans can purchase new team merchandise, individual game tickets, group outings, corporate picnics and skyboxes by visiting our website at www.ctdefenders.com or by calling (860) 887-7962.
