"Defend Youngstown" Night This Friday

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - Youngstown SteelHounds General Manager Joe Gregory in conjunction with Defend Youngstown announced today that Friday, February 29th will be "Defend Youngstown Night" when the Hounds play the Wichita Thunder at 7:05. All fans who wear Defend Youngstown shirts will receive $2.00 off silver level tickets.
Defend Youngstown is a movement dedicated to the advancement of the city of Youngstown. With supporters numbering in the thousands to include civic leadership, the business community and concerned citizens nationwide, Defend Youngstown is the symbol of civic pride and the battle cry for positive change in the Mahoning Valley.
This is one of several great promotions happening this weekend. Along with "Defend Youngstown Night," Friday is also "SteelHounds out for Blood Night" as fans can donate blood to the American Red Cross from 2:00 - 7:00pm. It is also "Fan Appreciation Friday" which means $1.00 beers for everyone 21 years and older. Saturday night's 7:05 face-off is headlined by an appearance from ESPN's Barry Melrose. It is also "Cheesy Noisemaker Night" where fans can bring boxes of macaroni and cheese to shake during the game. After the game those boxes will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Sunday is a 4:05 start with all fans receiving Rick Nash "Rick Bands". Sunday is also your opportunity to skate with the Hounds after the game so make sure to bring your skates. Tickets are on sale for $8.00 by calling (330) 747-PUCK.
