
De Vanna Honored as Female Footballer of the Year

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Nov. 13, 2013) - Sky Blue FC striker Lisa De Vanna has been named Female Footballer of the Year by Football Federation Australia (FFA).
De Vanna, 28, is one of the most experienced players on the Westfield Matildas with 75 appearances to her name since debuting in 2004. The striker has been an integral part of the national team and has played in two FIFA Women's World Cups, an Olympic Games, and also an AFC Women's Asian Cup Championship.
Just this week, De Vanna was nominated for the prestigious FIFA Puskas Award for Goal of the Year for her athletic bicycle kick in June.
De Vanna, currently on loan to Melbourne Victory of the Australian W-League, appeared in 17 matches for Sky Blue FC during the 2013 NWSL season, making 16 starts. She finished the season with five goals and two assists.
