DCU Center and Worcester Sharks out for Blood September 5

WORCESTER, MA - The Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks), proud American Hockey League affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) and the SMG-managed DCU Center will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. inside the Convention Center lobby. To schedule an appointment to donate blood call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
The Worcester Sharks and the DCU Center have hosted a blood drive annually at the DCU Center since the team's inaugural season in 2006. Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. You never know when a friend, family member, or co-worker or even you will need blood. Each unit of donated blood may help save up to three lives. Donated blood is used to help accident victims, trauma patients, transplant recipients, and those receiving treatment for life-threatening illnesses.
"The Sharks and the DCU Center have a terrific partnership with the American Red Cross and we are excited to take part of this Blood Drive for the ninth straight year," stated Worcester Sharks Sr. Director of Business and Community Development Michael Myers. "We look forward to see each donor at a Worcester Sharks hockey game next season at the DCU Center."
All presenting donors will receive their choice of one free ticket to one of the following 2014-2015 Season events at the DCU Center:
- Worcester Sharks regular season home game
- Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Built To Amaze!, Oct 9-13 (opening night tickets)
- Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure Presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt, Apr 2-5 (opening night tickets)
Performance date and times may vary. Subject to availability.
Limited curbside parking outside the Convention Center on Major Taylor Boulevard will be available for donors. Donors should enter through Door #2 of the Convention Center.
*Prizes are non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash.
