Dazzle's Thomas Earns Another GATORADE Call-Up

GREENVILLE, S.C., February 22 â The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed Roanoke Dazzle forward James Thomas to a 10-day contract, making him the sixth GATORADE Call-Up of the National Basketball Development League season.
Thomas represents the 45th overall GATORADE Call-Up since the NBDL began play in November 2001. This is the second NBDL-to-NBA promotion this season for Thomas, who signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the Portland Trail Blazers back in January.
The leading rebounder in the NBDL, Thomas is also the only D-League player averaging a double-double this season. He has played in 22 games (22 starts) with the Dazzle, averaging 34.8 minutes, 13.1 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

The NBDL, the NBA's minor league, includes the Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Huntsville Flight (Ala.), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), Columbus Riverdragons (Ga.) and Asheville Altitude (N.C.).
The league offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. In addition to 33 players, nine former NBDL coaches, five athletic trainers, 11 referees and 29 front office executives have also been called up to the NBA umbrella since the start of the league's inaugural season.
